Lot of nice oldies but goldies but shouldn't the blog owner's pic not also be shown in b&w from the 70s instead of all this modern new fangled color high tech stuff?

It looks like one of the movies at the Regency is "Which way is up?"
Can anyone tell what the other movie poster is for?

Anon 9:28 - I know a reporter who once covered history in another state. Her editor had her have her photo taken in 1800 garb and the photo ran with her column. She can't believe he talked her into it.

I remember the first night of mixed drinks in Charlotte. Went to the White Horse downtown and ordered some White Russians (somebody else had one, sounded good to me). I woke up the next day in my work clothes and shoes, complete with raincoat.

Before Barnes & Noble and Amazon there was The Intimate Bookshop. I remember browsing/reading there when I was a kid in the 80's when we went to SouthPark. They had a loft sales area in the back with stairs leading up and I believe the store had wood floors. Too bad hardly any small bookstores left today.

Yes, Mike! Squeaky floors and the upstairs. Loved that place.

White Horse downtown? Where? There was one on East Bvd, Monroe Rd, and Eastway b4 it went ghetto when the north end was a real safe college area other than a few small strip clubs.

The Intimate closed later than 1994 IIRC. I am pretty sure I remember it closing in the summer or fall of 1997. I remember coming home from college to visit and having a blast going through that old place one final time. I remember picking up a few sci-fi books on clearance in the creaky upstairs area.
