Lakewood Park

Lakewood Park was an amusement park northwest of uptown Charlotte.

Located in northwest Charlotte near what is now Enderly Park, Lakewood operated
from the 1910s to the 1930s and offered swimming, boating, a dancing pavilion,
amusement rides and even a zoo!

But folks stopped coming after the Depression and when the dam broke in the late 1930s the park was not rebuilt.

I hope you enjoy these stories and ads from the Charlotte Observer!
