A diving horse and other diversions

The State of North Carolina purchased Chimney Rock Park from
the Morse family (Chimney Rock Company) for $24 million in 2007.

In 1924, a 1.25-mile, high banked oval race track made entirely of wood opened off South Boulevard near Pineville on the same spot where the Lance snack food plant is now located.

The Ford Motor Company Plant was built on Statesville Avenue in 1924-25.

My dad always had this brand of pencils in his desk and probably started using them as a child!
The Venus company was bought up in 1973 and the name was retired.
